Support Engineer

Are you an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer looking for a new and challenging role where you can use your skills in a growing business and have the opportunity to grow your technical skills?

Due to expansion our client is looking for a Support Engineer that enjoys providing support and resolving client issues. Working for this Managed Service Provider you will have the opportunity to use your skills working within a close-knit team providing a vital service to their varied client base working on various operating systems and equipment.

Working closely with your team and the Technical Services Manager, you will be predominantly based in lovely office on the outskirts of Newmarket however this would be a hybrid/ client facing role so you will have the chance to have that variety within your working week and will include times when you will be required to attend a customer’s site to carry out their pre-booked visit.

In this 2nd Line support role, you will be acting as the first point of contact for our clients IT Managed customers.  Working for this prestigious and well-regarded firm you will have some of the industry’s leading software to be able to provide that vital support clients need.

As the Support Engineer you will be:

  • Providing technical support to all users including support in PC hardware, laptops, printers, and LAN/WLAN, TCP/IP connection
  • Understand the design, development and configuration of new and existing applications in relation to Business-as-Usual service delivery
  • Liaise with other support teams within the organisation and external organisations (e.g. third-party software suppliers)
  • To assist with the configuration and deployment of new equipment and to ensure they are installed correctly and are fully functional
  • Daily system checks
  • To diagnose, troubleshoot and correct problems within systems
  • Ensure suitable working Anti Virus and Back up Solutions in place
  • Carry out timely deployment of hardware/software

As the Support Engineer you will have experience of:

  • Office 365 administration and support
  • Windows Server up to 2019
  • DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Networking (Firewalls, switches and routers)
  • Virtual Server Experience (VMware)
  • Veeam backups
  • Experience in supporting users face to face, over the phone and/or via email.
  • The ability to solve problems and think analytically.
